Derek taught us bridge with such enthusiasm and humour We will always remember him for that . Once partnering him at one of our wonderful bridge holidays I responded 1NT to his opening bid BUT I had 4 spades !Oh dear I had denied a 4card major !! I have never done it since !! I saw a twinkle in his eye although I knew he was a bit cross !!
