Derek and Doreen made us very welcome when we joined Brighouse Bridge Club. Derek was always so pleased when we, or any of the other beginners played well. One of my oldest and fondest memories of Grandad Derek was his love for cartoons and watching them with us as children. I would always look forward to watching them when going to Granny and Grandads. I always remember him giving me a £2 coin almost every visit and saying "don't spend it all at once son" When Grandad passed and I was so far away from everyone and what was happening. I wanted to remember and honor him in my own way. What better way than to toast him with a glass of scotch and watch pre 1950s cartoons, something I haven't watched in over 15 or even 20 years. It really took me back, felt like I was back at their home watching cartoons with Grandad. Derek you'll be missed but never forgotten! Joe
